  • Where to find step saver

Just wondering if anyone has any embroidery supply sites they might use to get the material that looks like embroidery to use for applique or to help a large full back cut down on stitch counts. I know Gunold has "step saver" but WOW, pricey! If this will just be used as a background for embroidery to be placed on top, with only a little showing through in places throughout, can I use something like a twill from a fabric shop? This will be going on sweatshirt zip up jackets, so would like to keep the amount of stitcing down as they are only a 9 0z weight. what would you all suggest?

Go to www.allbrands.com, search for :
Simply Stable Hide-It. They have 20 sheets assorted colors 8"x!0" for 12.98. I think you can find a coupon for 5 dollars off by liking them on Facebook for 25 dollar order.
