    With any luck the pic is now attached showing the method of positioning files for usage with hats for exact placement above your cap brim

    Ok, I understand what you are saying now. I guess we just go about it differently. I don't worry about that. Just load the design in the OS and position the first hat appropriately using the keypad. After that, I never touch the positioning except to center the design from left to right.

      When you use the laser on caps you may not always get the true center. The laser enters from the right side of the machine. If the cap is not flat on the needle plate the laser will be off. You may have to press the cap down to be sure it is being illuminated correctly.

        I should also mention... I find my center from left to right by lining up the cap seam with the active needle using my dominant eye. 😁
