  • Cap side troubles

I am using an Amaya XTS with a red WACF. I have a design that I have been trying over and over to get to come out right and it will not. The front lettering comes out fine, but the design on the side is horrible. I have now spent almost $100 with different digitizers who say the side design will work when they are done with it and it doesn't. I just keep getting thread breaks over and over again and it's very frustrating. I was using 75/11 ballpoint needles, then switched to 75/11 sharp. I have tried tightening the bobbin. I have tried different caps & different backing. I know it can be done because we used to order these same caps embroidered from a different company before they went out of business. The main reason we bought this machine was to do the embroidery for our advertising and everything has worked great except for these hats. I at least need to get 50 of these caps done and seem to be running out of options. Any ideas? What else can I try to make this work? I have only been doing this since December so I am still learning.

What is the side design? Send me a picture at [email protected] and I'll see if I can help.

If you can send me a picture along with the embroidery file to [email protected], I'll take a look at it.

If it is a structured cap and you are not using "settings by color", you may not get the proper material thickness. Use a starting point of 7-8 for the front and change it to 4-5 for the side.
If it is an unstructured then the material thickness should not be an issue.

Thank you monogramsbylaura for helping me out, and AACE for asking. Herb- I have never used the settings by color before, I will try that on my next sew out.

I would also urge you to try one fix at a time. If you make several changes at once and the sewout works you have no idea what fixed it.
